The name DFRKTN is derived from "diffraction". Is an avant-garde, artisanal fashion brand committed to sustainability and slow fashion. Creating timeless, eco-conscious pieces that challenge conventional fashion norms. Using recycled materials and innovative craftsmanship, blending evergreen aesthetics with enduring design.

 

 The phenomenon in which light waves bend through an object and spread out into their own individual rays. And just like light waves, DFRKTN splits itself into different sub-lines. Ensuring there is a bit of everything, for a bit of everyone. Collections are defined by their limited edition garments, where each piece tells a unique story, transcending traditional trends.

OUR STORY

DFRKTN was founded by Sasha Thys in 2017. Initially transforming second-hand clothing though hand painting and other modifications. After graduating in fashion design from Antwerp, DFRKTN was relaunched in 2023, evolving it into the avant-garde brand it is presently. His close proximity to nature due to having lived near woodlands his whole life, has shaped his approach to design and production.

As of 2024, Sasha was awarded the title os "recognised artisan" by the Belgian Ministry of Economic Affairs, a privilege only granted to 2000 individuals. This recognition underlines both his dedication to the craft and DFRKTN'S role in sustainable, artisanal fashion. Making it one of Belgium's youngest certified artisanal brands.

At DFRKTN, we embrace the beauty of imperfection and the natural passage of time, Rooted in Wabi-Sabi philosophy, each garment is hand-crafted that celebrate the wear and patinas of time. Using deadstock fabrics, vintage and antique textiles, challenging fast fashion norms through thoughtful craftsmanship.
